60 Second Radio Ad BUSINESS FOR FAIR SHARE Strategic Campaign Initiatives
Announcer: Paid for by the Maryland Citizens' Health Initiative
Derbyshire: Hi, I'm Mark Derbyshire and I own a small moving and storage company in Harford County.
Jackson: And I'm Lisa Jackson, President of the Baltimore Minority Contractors Group.
Derbyshire: Right now, thousands of people who work for large companies get no health insurance. When those workers or their families go to the hospital, the costs are shifted to companies that pay for health insurance, like my small business. That's not fair.
Jackson: Or those costs are paid by state health programs and taxpayers pick up the tab.
That's not fair.
Derbyshire: Last year, Governor Ehrlich vetoed the Fair Share Health Care bill, which would require large companies to spend a fair amount on health care for their employees, so small businesses and taxpayers don't have to.
Jackson: On January 11th, the Maryland General Assembly will vote on whether to override that veto. So please call your State Delegates at 410-841-3000 and ask them to support Fair Share Health Care.
Derbyshire: That's 410-841-3000. It's only fair.
